Good afternoon, a bit late to do this but it was not too bad of a week. Weight is up to 240 even but seeing the party season is in full swing. Last week was my Daughter's Birthday and today is my Wife's so a big dinner tonight too.We plan on going out this weekend to complete the celebration. Today was our "Holiday" party but I ate little. Pizza became common at our house last week because of either a quantity of people were coming over or convenience. I can eat pizza every meal. LOVE IT!!! So this weekend is suppose to be cold but the porch isn't done yet and the cold is good training. Makes ya strong.

Before I go please remember in your thoughts and prayers those effected by the shootings in Newton. It hit home here in Stratford. Victoria Soto attended the same HS as my Kids. She was a bit older but her sister graduated with my Daughter and her youngest sister was a year behind my Son. Good Bless. Rest in Peace. Jim

Happy 12-12-12 to all. Today is significant as it is our Daughter, Danielle's, birthday. That is about all that is significant to 12-12-12 to me. Anyway I wish my report of weight was as happy a day as it is for Dani but not this week. 239.6lbs. Not really sure why. Eating has been relatively good but I think I have been carbing a bit too much. I will admit I am a carbaholic. Love my bread especially. I have been staying clear of the bakery section of the stores lately just in case they just brought out some warm Italian bread. I can pretty much eat the whole loaf. I also haven't had a lot of "free" time this week. My Wife had surgery on Monday for a meniscus tear so I have been "helpful" to her. Well I think I have been.  Til next week, stay on track. Jim

Another Wednesday and another weigh in. 239 even today. Broke the 240 mark that I have been above for months. Trying to get a handle on eating. Using portion control and not snacking on bad food. Popcorn the other night instead of chips. Plan on continuing building our front porch this weekend and making room in the bar to get the weights out there. Need to start the exercise portion of the train ASAP. Have a great week all. Jim

Another Wednesday and a weigh in. After a Holiday weekend and 4 days off I wasn't expecting a loss but was hoping to stay steady. Turns out I lost 1 lil pound, It may not sound like much but if I listed all I ate being off for 4 days and Thanksgiving in itself I am VERY happy. Still a long weight loss ahead to make the trip up the Wash but I am trying to look at ways to track my weight and especially my eating. I have used Weight Watchers in the past and my Wife uses Livestrong web site to track. I may try that one. I have no $$f or WW right now or for a gym membership so I am on my own. Til next time. Jim

Wednesday, weigh in day. Still the same 243. :>( I have not been eating the best but have been very busy building a new front porch on our house. I thought the exercise would be good for the training and weight loss but not to be. I an expecting some gain the next couple days that could be disastrous. Til next time. Jim

Day 1 of the diet part of the training. Current weight is a whopping 243. That makes for at least a 33lb drop in weight in about 5 1/2 months. It is going to be tough with the Holidays ahead but I cant let a few days in the next month and 1/2 ruin this trip. I am hoping as I start to lose a bit of weight I get a little more energy and be able to get up earlier and go out for a brisk walk. Well that's the plan right now. Thanks. Jim

Good afternoon all, Let me begin by introducing myself. I am Jim I live in Ct, 55yo, and kinda out of shape. I used to be athletic in my youth but time has taken its toll on me. I CAN predict weather with my bones. I am currently 5'9" ish, shrunk a bit,and around 240lbs. My goal is to start a blog documenting my training and weight for an attempt to hike Mt Washington in early spring 2013. I will be weighing in on my home scale every Wednesday. I figure if I post this all it will keep me focused. I would like to get own to about 200 but my realistic goal right now is 210lbs. I have hiked Mt Washington 3 times to the top and numerous lower hikes. I have also done MT Katadin in Maine a couple times and really did enjoy hiking til I got "old". So any help anyone can afford to keep me on track would be very helpful. Thanks. Jim
