Another Wednesday and a weigh in. After a Holiday weekend and 4 days off I wasn't expecting a loss but was hoping to stay steady. Turns out I lost 1 lil pound, It may not sound like much but if I listed all I ate being off for 4 days and Thanksgiving in itself I am VERY happy. Still a long weight loss ahead to make the trip up the Wash but I am trying to look at ways to track my weight and especially my eating. I have used Weight Watchers in the past and my Wife uses Livestrong web site to track. I may try that one. I have no $$f or WW right now or for a gym membership so I am on my own. Til next time. Jim

Wednesday, weigh in day. Still the same 243. :>( I have not been eating the best but have been very busy building a new front porch on our house. I thought the exercise would be good for the training and weight loss but not to be. I an expecting some gain the next couple days that could be disastrous. Til next time. Jim

Day 1 of the diet part of the training. Current weight is a whopping 243. That makes for at least a 33lb drop in weight in about 5 1/2 months. It is going to be tough with the Holidays ahead but I cant let a few days in the next month and 1/2 ruin this trip. I am hoping as I start to lose a bit of weight I get a little more energy and be able to get up earlier and go out for a brisk walk. Well that's the plan right now. Thanks. Jim

Good afternoon all, Let me begin by introducing myself. I am Jim I live in Ct, 55yo, and kinda out of shape. I used to be athletic in my youth but time has taken its toll on me. I CAN predict weather with my bones. I am currently 5'9" ish, shrunk a bit,and around 240lbs. My goal is to start a blog documenting my training and weight for an attempt to hike Mt Washington in early spring 2013. I will be weighing in on my home scale every Wednesday. I figure if I post this all it will keep me focused. I would like to get own to about 200 but my realistic goal right now is 210lbs. I have hiked Mt Washington 3 times to the top and numerous lower hikes. I have also done MT Katadin in Maine a couple times and really did enjoy hiking til I got "old". So any help anyone can afford to keep me on track would be very helpful. Thanks. Jim
